02Questions

Common questions

Is the old text removed from the file?

Yes. The text containing each match is rewritten, so the old words are gone from the page. They can't be selected, copied or found by search in the new file.

Why can't it find text I can see?

Scanned pages are pictures of text, so there's nothing to search; run OCR on them first. Text turned at an angle, or drawn as part of a graphic, is listed but can't be replaced.

Will the new text match the old font?

Yes, when the PDF's font includes every character of the replacement. PDFs often embed only the letters they use, so if one is missing you'll see which font will be used before you replace.
