Which tools can I use today?
All of them: 42 tools to edit, organise, convert to and from PDF, sign, protect, redact and share documents, plus image tools. Browse them on the Tools page.
Can I change the text that's already in a PDF?
Yes. Edit PDF and Find & replace text rewrite the text in its original font, and the old words are removed from the file, not covered. To remove private information for good, use Redact PDF.
Do I need an account?
No. Every tool works without signing up. A free account (with email or Google) keeps your documents until you delete them, up to 1 GB, and adds usage analytics and a history of your activity. Guest files are deleted after 1 hour.
Is it free?
Yes. PocketPDF's ready tools are free to use.
What happens to my files?
Only the browser that uploaded a file, or the account that owns it, can download it (unless you create a share link). Guest files are deleted automatically after 1 hour. Account files stay until you delete them, one by one or all at once, from Documents.
Does merging or rotating change the quality?
No. Pages are copied or re-oriented without being re-rendered, so text, images and links stay exactly as they were.
Can I use password-protected PDFs?
Yes. Unlock PDF removes a password you know, and Protect PDF adds one with AES-256 encryption. Other tools work on the unlocked copy.
Are my files sent to other services for conversion?
No. Office, web page and OCR conversions run on our own servers with open-source software, not through another company's conversion service. See how files are handled on the File security page.
