How to delete pages from a PDF
Blank backs of scanned pages, duplicates after a merge, an appendix nobody needs: Delete pages removes them and saves the rest as a new PDF, in the same order and quality.
Step by step
- 01
Open Delete pages and add your PDF
Every page appears as a thumbnail.
- 02
Mark the pages to remove
Click a page to mark it, and click again to unmark it. For a long document, type page numbers and ranges such as 2-4, 9 and select Mark.
- 03
Delete and download
Select Delete pages and download the copy with every page you didn't mark.
Typing page numbers
- Separate pages and ranges with commas: 1, 3, 5-8.
- Write ranges from low to high: 5-8, not 8-5.
- Typed pages are added to the pages you've already marked. Click a page to unmark it.
Keeping a few pages instead
If you need only a few pages from a long document, it's quicker to list the ones to keep: Split PDF with Extract pages saves just those pages as a new PDF. See how to split a PDF.
What stays the same
Pages are copied as they are, so text stays selectable, images keep their quality and links and form fields keep working. The file you uploaded isn't changed. The bookmark list may not carry over to the new copy, so check it if your document relies on it.
Tidying up afterwards
- Put pages in a new order with Rearrange pages.
- Turn sideways pages with Rotate PDF.
- Make the file smaller with Compress PDF.
Questions
- Can I delete every page?
- No. At least one page has to stay. To get rid of the whole document, delete the file instead.
- Can I undo a deletion?
- Your uploaded PDF isn't changed, so you can start again from it if you removed the wrong page.
